Fayette Secures Hard-Fought Road Victory at Hazleton, 81–77
HAZLETON, Pa. — November 22, 2025 – The Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions earned a gritty and well-rounded road victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Penn State Hazleton 81–77 in a PSUAC matchup highlighted by efficient shooting and dominant rebounding.
Fayette shot an impressive 54.9% from the field and knocked down nine three-pointers, showing strong offensive balance throughout the game. The Roaring Lions also controlled the boards with a 40–33 rebounding advantage, which proved crucial in the closing minutes.
Junior forward John Osuji put together one of the best performances of his career, posting a commanding 15-point, 16-rebound double-double, including six offensive boards. His presence in the paint anchored Fayette on both ends of the floor.
Jesse Lawson Jr. continued his standout early-season form, leading the Lions with 21 points, fueled by five made three-pointers. DeAndre Brown Jr. added nine points and three assists, while Kamau Mitchell and Landon Percinsky chipped in eight and six points respectively, helping Fayette maintain rhythm off the bench.
Fayette's depth played a major role, as the team received 28 points from reserves, headlined by Ja'Vion Blackwell (6 points) and Josiah McKoy (6 points).
Hazleton stayed in the contest behind a huge performance from Andre Campbell, who scored 29 points, but Fayette's defensive rebounding and late-game execution helped seal the win.
